Over time, industrial equipment and utility systems accumulate dust, oil, sludge, scale, carbon, ash, process deposits and other contaminants that can restrict flow, reduce heat transfer, increase pressure drops and adversely affect overall system performance.
At Raccon, our Shutdown Cleaning & Performance Restoration services are designed to take advantage of planned equipment shutdowns to carry out comprehensive cleaning, inspection and restoration of the complete system, including the main equipment and its supporting systems.
Our approach extends to the equipment, its auxiliaries, interconnected piping and supporting systems. Depending upon the application and nature of contamination, the scope may include manual and mechanical cleaning, high-pressure water jetting, chemical cleaning, descaling, flushing, internal cleaning and replacement of damaged or deteriorated components.
Comprehensive shutdown cleaning of compressors and associated systems, including oil vessels, coolers, filters, separators, hoses, piping, electrical panels and other components. Removal of accumulated oil, dust and deposits helps maintain cooling effectiveness, minimise restrictions and support reliable compressor performance. Cleaning methods are selected to suit each component; electrical panels require appropriate dry cleaning procedures.
Deep cleaning of boiler furnaces, pressure parts and associated systems, including fuel-handling and ash-handling equipment. The scope can include removal of soot, ash, scale and deposits, cleaning of heat-transfer surfaces and inspection of accessible components during shutdown.
Cleaning and restoration of process equipment and associated systems, including grinding equipment, mixers/blenders, hoppers, silos, conveying systems, process piping, bag filters, dust collectors and ESPs. Particular attention is given to accumulated product, dust and deposits that can cause choking, pressure drops, reduced capacity or deterioration in system performance.
Complete cleaning and restoration of heat exchangers through opening and inspection, descaling, removal of process deposits, pressure-jet and/or chemical cleaning where suitable, cleaning of heat-transfer surfaces, inspection of plates and gaskets, and replacement of damaged plates or deteriorated gaskets as required.
Where required, Raccon can undertake the activity as a coordinated shutdown service covering:
– Pre-shutdown inspection and scope assessment
– Equipment opening and dismantling as required
– Deep cleaning, descaling and deposit removal
– High-pressure water jetting and suitable chemical cleaning
– Inspection for wear, corrosion, leakage and damaged components
– Replacement of identified consumables and damaged parts
– Reassembly and system restoration
– Pre-startup checks and recommissioning support
– Post-maintenance observations and recommendations
Our focus is to address the hidden deterioration that develops throughout an operating system and can gradually affect heat transfer, airflow, process flow, pressure drop, energy consumption, reliability and equipment life.
By combining deep cleaning, inspection and corrective maintenance during a planned shutdown, Raccon helps customers bring their equipment and associated systems back to the best practical operating condition before restarting production.
